Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC 2017)- London, UK
November 14, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
The safety of vehicles traveling at speed is largely dependant on the response time of braking systems combined with prior warning of hazards. In autonomous vehicles, these factors rely heavily on communication systems exhibiting extremely high reliability and very low latency. Whilst the vehicle itself can make very rapid decisions based on its own onboard sensors, there is universal recognition that vehicle to vehicle and vehicle to highway communication networks will have a vital role to play.
The 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), which is a global cross-industry partnership, was formed in September 2016 to foster the development of connected and self-driving cars as well as intelligent transport systems with a view to informing and shaping the standards and best practice for future 5G networks.
At the forthcoming 5G Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communications Conference in London on November 14th 2017, Ilaria Thibault from Vodafone/5GAA and Alain Servel from Group PSA (Peugeot, Citroen, Opal, Vauxhall) will be reviewing the requirements for 5G from both the vehicle and network perspective.
Confirmed speakers include BT, Telecom Italia, Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, Orange, Three, Bell Mobility, Telefonica, ETSI, 5GIA, Volkswagen, Bosch, ABB, Cinema Arts Network, European Utilities Telecom Council, NHS England, Transport for London, Group PSA.
