Prof. Mischa Dohler

Mischa Dohler is full Professor in Wireless Communications at King’s College London, driving cross-disciplinary research and innovation in technology, sciences and arts. He is the Director of the Centre for Telecommunications Research, co-founder of the pioneering smart city company  Worldsensing, Fellow of the IEEE, the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Royal Society of Arts (RSA), and a Distinguished Member of Harvard Square Leaders Excellence.

He is a frequent keynote, panel and tutorial speaker, and has received numerous awards. He has pioneered several research fields, contributed to numerous wireless broadband, IoT/M2M and cyber security standards, holds a dozen patents, organized and chaired numerous conferences, was the Editor-in-Chief of two journals, has more than 200 highly-cited publications, and authored several books.

Dr Toktam Mahmoodi

Toktam Mahmoodi is currently Associate Professor in Telecommunication at King’s College London.  She works in close collaboration with telecom industry, and their pol icy makers and standardization bodies as well as application sectors of mobile and wireless communication s such as health and automotive. She has range of academic and industry experience in different organizations and within three continents (Asia, Europe and America). Toktam has worked through evolution of wireless technologies from GSM, and DECT to the 3G, 4G and 5G.

Eiko Seidel

Eiko Seidel is Chief Technical Of­ficer at Nomor Research GmbH offering training, consultancy and si­mu­la­tion services.

He has been working in mobile communication R&D for more than 20 years. Since 3GPP was fou­nd­ed in 1998, Eiko has been contributing ac­ti­ve­ly to 3G, 4G and now 5G stand­ardisation mainly RAN working groups. Besides nu­mer­ous contributions to 3GPP, he published 20+ con­ference papers, submitted 100+ patent appli­ca­tions and contributed to various books. Eiko wor­ks as consultant, advisor, trainer and in­­de­pen­dent expert for various organisations. Other interest: LTE/5G V2X, LTE Public Safety, M2M/MTC, LTE Broadcast, eMBMS and Small Cells.

Geoff Varrall

Geoff Varrall joined RTT in 1985 as an executive director and shareholder to develop RTT's international business as a provider of technology and business services to the wireless industry.

He co-developed RTT's original series of design and facilitation workshops including 'RF Technology', 'Data Over Radio', 'Introduction to Mobile Radio', and 'Private Mobile Radio Systems and developed 'The Oxford programme', a five day strategic technology and market programme presented annually with the Shosteck Group. Over the past twenty years, several thousand senior level delegates attended these programmes.

A co-author of the Mobile Radio Servicing Handbook (Heinemann Butterworth, UK), Data Over Radio, (Quantum Publishing, Mendocino, USA and 3G Handset and Network Design (John Wiley, New York).

Geoff's fourth book, Making Telecoms Work – from technical innovation to commercial success (John Wiley) was published in early 2012 and his fifth book, 5G Spectrum and Standards is now available from Artech House. He has co authored a study on 5G vertical markets for Policy Tracker, and presents on the twice yearly Policy Tracker workshop ' Understanding Spectrum Management'. He is currently working on a study of satellite spectrum and standards and 5G supply chain economics.

Emil Olbrich

Emil Olbrich is currently President at PrimeLime, Trainer at and also VP of Networks with Signals Research Group. Prior to this he was head of LTE research, development, test and evaluation for the Public Safety Communications Research Program where he deployed the first and most diverse Public Safety 700 MHz LTE test lab in the world with over 70 participating vendors and commercial carriers. He was responsible for the specifying, deploying and maintaining the entire ecosystem of LTE which included devices, air interface, transport, radio access network, evolved packet core, IP networking, IMS core and application servers. He also led the team efforts, which include standards work, test case development and test case execution.

Mr. Olbrich has over 20 years of experience in the field of wireless telecommunications. He has worked primarily in R&D at some of the largest telecommunication companies in the world – such as Motorola, Qualcomm and Ericsson. His scope of work includes deploying and operating LTE infrastructure (RAN, EPC and IMS) from numerous Tier 1 vendors; testing new LTE mobile devices from multiple suppliers; testing, deploying and operating some of the first commercial CDMA networks; serving as Lead Project engineer for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics and as the Project Manager for the China Ministry of Information Industry 3G testing in China; and supporting the early development of HDR (EV-DO and EV-DO Rev A).

Marcin Dryjanski

Marcin Dryjanski received his M.Sc. degree in telecommunications from the Poznan University of Technology in Poland in June 2008. During the past 10 years, Marcin has served as R&D Engineer, Lead Researcher, R&D Consultant, Technical Trainer and Technical Leader. He has been providing expert level courses on LTE/LTE-Advanced for leading mobile operators and vendors. Marcin was a workpackage leader in EU-funded research projects aiming at radio interface design for 5G including FP-7 5GNOW and FP-7 SOLDER. He co-authored several research papers targeting LTE-Advanced Pro and 5G radio interface design, and is a co-author of a book entitled "From LTE to LTE-Advanced Pro and 5G", (M. Rahnema, M. Dryjanski, Artech House 2017). Marcin is the co-founder of Grandmetric, heading the field of mobile wireless systems.
